Generally, the NAU Cog-Ling Group encourages and supports a re-examination of Nigerian languages from the Cognitive Linguistics perspective. More specifically, the group aims at realizing this objective through the following practical activities:
→organize a monthly Cognitive Linguistics Colloquium that shall revolve around three main issues:
- deliberations on specific Cognitive Linguistics topics and the examination of their practical application to the study of Nigerian languages
- presentation of, and deliberations on, the latest publications within the Field
- presentation of ongoing research works from members of the research group
→organize annual workshops/conferences, in addition to inviting virtual/physical lectures from prominent Cognitive Linguists
